Your 4-Day Portugal Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais
Begin your 4-day journey from Lisbon toward the enchanting town of Sintra, a place that feels like it was taken straight from a fairy tale. Here, you can choose to visit two of its most iconic landmarks, each offering a unique glimpse into Portugal’s romantic and mysterious past.
At Pena Palace, admire the vibrant colors and striking Romantic architecture imagined by King Fernando II, often called the “Artist King” for his deep love of the arts. Once a simple monastery, the palace was transformed into one of Portugal’s most remarkable royal residences, set high above the forested hills.
At Quinta da Regaleira, step into a world of symbolism and hidden meaning as you explore lush gardens, secret tunnels, and intriguing structures inspired by the Freemasons, the Knights Templar, and ancient alchemical traditions. Take time to wander through Sintra’s charming historic center, filled with small shops, cafés, and traditional pastries.
Continue your journey to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Standing on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic, you’ll find a place once believed to be the very edge of the world, long before the Americas and Portugal’s Atlantic islands were discovered.
End the day in Cascais, a beautiful coastal town that grew from a traditional fishing village into an elegant seaside retreat favored by Portuguese royalty and high society, often referred to as the Portuguese Riviera. After enjoying the relaxed coastal atmosphere, return comfortably to Lisbon.

Continue to Batalha, home to one of Portugal’s greatest architectural treasures, the Monastery of Batalha. This impressive Gothic masterpiece was built to celebrate Portugal’s victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota and stands as a symbol of national identity and devotion. As you walk through its detailed cloisters and grand interior, you’ll discover centuries of history carved into stone.
From there, head toward the coast to Nazaré, a traditional fishing town known for its strong connection to the sea. Enjoy the fresh ocean air, explore the local streets, and visit the clifftop area of Sítio, famous for its breathtaking views and the giant waves that have made Nazaré known around the world.
In the afternoon, continue to the medieval village of Óbidos, one of the most charming and well-preserved towns in Portugal. Wander through its narrow cobbled streets, lined with whitewashed houses, small local shops, and colorful flowers.
